Definitions: Teens In Adult Courts
Probably Cause Hearing – occurs with a court clerk to determine wheter a complaint should be issued.
Arraignment — where offical charge are read, a determination of an attorney is made, other release and/or bail conditions may be imposed.
Dangerous Hearings — this is where the state needs to show there are no other least restrictive means for release other than to hold he prisoner.
Pretrial Hearings — an opportunity for counsel and prosecutor to neet and provide evidence recommendations and negotiate for the person. Many times multiple hearings are required due to the lengthy formal process.
